An Electronic Street on Memory Lane

Need your laptop repaired, in the market for new earphones, or looking for a good deal, then Taichung’s Electronic Street is your go to destination.  Located a stone’s throw from the train station, this street has been selling electronic items in the old city for more than 40 years.  Items for sale include computers, printers, audio-visual equipment, VCDs/DvDs and an assortment of software.  The street is really two pedestrian alleys with four entrances from adjoining roads.  In recent years, many shops have moved to the newer NOVA complex on Yingcai Rd further North.  However, if you’re near the train station and want to pick up a cheap cellphone or pair of ear phones then here’s a good bet.  Shops are mostly open 10am to 10pm, throughout the week.
